Summary of Job Responsibilities:
The Credit Manager provides oversite of credit administration, which includes credit analysis, document processing, and lender support. The incumbent is accountable for complying with all Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering regulations, as well as all Bank policies and procedures.
Essential Job Duties:
- Coaching / counseling / training / motivating / developing / supervising staff.
- Management of banks' commercial lending operating system and banks' commercial loan document system.
- Manage department workflow.
- Recommends changes for improving underwriting and credit turnaround time.
- Stays in regular communication with supervisor and commercial lenders regarding workflow prioritization.
- Responsible for the quality / accuracy of financial spreading and analysis. Able to analyze the historical and projected income statement, cash flows and balance sheet of a business. Monitors the work product of other analysts.
- Responsible for the file documentation and maintenance in the loan department.
- Investigates customer inquiries pertaining to loan account problems.
- Responsible for processing commercial lending credit denial letters.
- Comfortable with adapting and multi-tasking.
- Works with internal and external customers.
- Financial tracking including contacting customers for financial data. Further, shall provide the Senior Commercial Lender with a report of financial statement exceptions / outstanding items no less than monthly. Report will show all required financial statement reporting on large loan relationships per policy and will indicate items outstanding.
- Responsible for completion of annual reviews in a timely manner.
- Document accurately the information needed by auditors to review loan requests and understand the Banks' processes and methodology for acceptable / improved audit ratings.
- Prepares reports for supervisor as needed.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Must have effective interpersonal skills and be comfortable and professional in interactions with both external and internal Banking customers.
- Excellent math skills.
- Proficiency with computers in general and Microsoft operating systems, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Must have good oral and written communications skills.
- Must have a good knowledge of consumer and commercial loans, principles, policies, and practices of lending, and the analytical ability to conduct an analysis of a financial statement.
Minimum Level of Performance and Training Normally Required:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business is preferred.
- A minimum of five years' experience working as a Credit Analyst is required.
- Three to five years' direct management experience to include supervising, training, and developing staff.
Working Conditions:
- Some pressure may be involved meeting deadlines, but no unusual physical factors or demands associated with the job.
